This is a project to make a mailbox post from ship anchor chain. I am thinking to get a steel plate like 1/2 inch, 3x3 ft. Then weld the chain to the plate vertically, or in some funky shape, and then weld a plate on top to mount the mailbox. They I would dig a hole and bury the steel plate in the ground like a foundation.
