Today (Jul 15, 2026) was a nice and pleasant day (if it was not 95F, it would be perfect). A leading mid-size manufacturing company in Elk Grove Village called us to remove their obsolete equipment: a Strippit punch press, a power shear, power brake, and two CNC machines.
The punch press was difficult to get out due to how it was situated; so it took us a while to lift it off the mounting bolts, turn it around, and skate it out. We carefully cut the bolts flush with the floor for safety and swept the floor. It took us some time to pack all the punches in boxes and as the 30,000 forklift was too big for the room with CNC mills, we had to swap it for a smaller 15,000 forklift.
The company got its floor space, and we got the scrap machinery. The removal of obsolete machinery was free for them - and yet we will make money on metal. We also got free pizza from the company, and are very thankful for that super nice gesture.
